Last week, I had the opportunity to visitCalgary, AB
for the first time during one of the busiest times of the year in the city — the Calgary Stampede! It’s coined the ‘greatest outdoor show on earth,’ but if you’re anything like me, you can only eat so many on-park meals (although, the deep fried coffee options were impressive). That’s why I’ve taken the liberty of listing a few really good spots to grab a bite whenever you may visit YYC. Take a read & let me know you if you’ve tried any & what you thought! xx
Wise & Wright– this place was incredible (& much welcomed) for a quick and healthy bite. Really great salad, bowls, smoothie & toast offerings. We had the Ahi Poke Tuna Salad, Omega 3 Seafood Bowl & the G.O.A.T toast. All incredible. I’m hoping one of these pops up in Toronto asap!
Poolside Patio at Hotel Arts– the perfect spot for a drink with some great cocktail options. Highly recommend the pineapple mojito!
Divino Bistro– An Italian spot right downtown, so very walkable if you’re visiting and staying in the one of the main hotels. A good option if you’re looking for a more indulgent meal. The charcuterie board was impressive to say the least, and the B.C. salmon dish was unreal. The black pepper linguine was also a fave.
Ten Foot Henry– ok, I definitely saved the best for last here. This place was SO good. One of the best sharing plate meals I’ve ever had, AND the decor envy is too strong. We ordered pretty much the whole menu (shocking, lol) but stand outs were definitely the fried potatoes, chargrilled hanger steak, bucatini and the butterscotch pudding dessert. Oh, and the French75’s (gin, champagne & lemon juice) are a must!
